Love this book,
December 28, 2009 This review is from: Chasing Beauty: My Cosmetic Surgery Takeover (Paperback)
I just read Chasing Beauty and although im not big reader,i finished it a day and a half!!
It was very sad,yet so real for many of us.Not only for teens and women, but for their boyfriends,
husbands and dads who"just dont get" a females view of themselves and insecurity they deal with.
What this author didnt realize was that she was trying to fix something that wasnt "broke" on the outside,
yet shattered on the inside. She had no one to mend those broken pieces as a young girl, so there it lay
all crushed inside.I hope readers learn from this book,1.to not ignore the obvious(as i did) no matter how
uncomfortable it may be. 2.stop judging yourself as well as those around you,God did not make anyone perfect
3.Parents can learn alot from this book, this will make you WANT to be a better parent because you are your childs
future!!!!I hope you get as much out of this book as i did!
And to the author, bravo!!youre as brave and stong as
your...

What seems like a quick fix leads to more surgeries and even deeper psychological trauma. She suffers at the hands of incompetent surgeons and is forced into a cycle of cosmetic surgery in order to begin healing both physical and emotionally. She finds caring and competent physicians who help her overcome past mistakes and create an image she can be comfortable with. Along the way, Jamieson discovers that self acceptance and inner peace is more much important than physical beauty, and will long outlast it as well. The book is highly readable as Jamieson...

Great read!,
February 11, 2009 This review is from: Chasing Beauty: My Cosmetic Surgery Takeover (Paperback)
This memoir shows the sad and self-destructive futility of trying to identify with feminine beauty as a life survival tool. Jamison is a sympathetic 'everywoman' trying to cope in today's image-focused society.
