I never had a need for snow boots before, but now live where it is cold/rainy/sometimes snowy during majority of the year and wanted to find boots that were functional, but still cute. I searched for months before I decided on Kamik's Brooklyn boots in Black and bought these boots last year from somewhere else. I already knew they run small and don't have half sizes, but let the sales person talk me into buying a size 10 instead of size 9 when my usual shoe size is 8-8 1/2. When my foot slipped out of them while driving I stopped wearing them but they were sold out everywhere, I was so happy when I found them back in stock in my size during the summer on Amazon. I still love them, they are warm, comfortable, waterproof I don't slip and slide everywhere when the ground is wet/icy (have not experienced them in snow yet). Highly recommend! These boots are very comfortable, I feel like I'm wearing a pair of slippers! They are very lightweight and warm. The only downside is that they do not come in half sizes. Size 9 was too small and size 10 is slightly too big, but with thick winter socks they are fine. I love them!

I tried 8 different types of winter boots to find these. Six of them were from Kamik. I've found that the kind of boot with the rubber around the foot are very uncomfortable. My toes tend to get squished or the retain the cold for outside and my toes freeze. These boots do not have rubber surrounding the toes and leave wiggle room. I ordered a size up, I usually wear a 7 or 7 1/2 and I went for an 8 and they are great. Lots of insulation and my toes were not cold. I haven't worn them in the snow yet but have high hopes.
